Picnic Day BBQ | 11am to 1 pm - Dear Theta Chi Alumni, Zeta Xi Chapter, A number of Zeta Xi alumni attended Picnic Day this last Saturday. We observed that the chapter house (as old as it is) is still in relatively decent shape and the undergrads are taking care of it. There are a number of physical improvements needed, in particular the outside siding. We need to raise funds to replace this siding which is probably 70 years old. Bob Sommer pledged $10,000 if the alumni can raise an additional $10,000. These funds would all go towards repair of necessary chapter house repairs including the siding. In addition a active alumni work day will be scheduled for later this year. More information will follow.   ( click on a photo to open a larger version ) Theta Chi Alumni Association Zeta Xi Chapter Dear Alumni of the Zeta Xi Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, We would like to formally invite you to celebrate Picnic Day 2012 with us at our house on 501 Russell Blvd. Picnic Day is a large event every year for us and a great chance for brothers to connect with their forebears. The last year has seen many changes and improvements at the fraternity that we would love for you to come see, including a greatly side yard and a new outdoor bar, and renovations to the inside of the house. In addition, we have seen a resurgence in recruitment and membership, and a general increase in morale and motivation among brothers. We are fully out of debt for the first time in a decade, and are working with our current alumni board to use this new freedom to expand our influence on campus and undertake even more ambitious projects for the house and fraternity. This is a great chance to get more involved or to reconnect with the chapter. We are planning to run several activities at our house in order to facilitate brotherhood and safe fun. We will be having an outdoor BBQ, several different games and activities, and a fully stocked bar and bartender in order to provide a respite from the sometimes frantic pace of Picnic Day. If you are planning on attending again or considering returning for the first time, we would love to hear from you.
