Chapter House Renovation Update 8-7-03 As of today, 8-7-03, the house sprinkler system has been brought up to working condition and city code by the Ubiversity Landscaping Company at a cost of $780.00. The work to the sprinkler system has replaced all valves, sprinkler heads and broken pipes. Also, the main valve for the sprinkler system has been located and improved, as well as a new six station sprinkler timer has been added. The new sprinkler system and timer has brought about improved efficiency and has been coordinated to come on at 4:00 AM 5 days a week. In the past 10 days since the sprinkler system has been installed, marked improvement in dry patches as well as the overall lawn has been seen. The sprinkler company has also located and capped the sprinklers in the side courtyard near the barbeque and kitchen. Further house imprvemnts performed by The Sedillo Company include the installation of the majority of the new windows in the living and dining rooms of the front house. Live-ins have already noticed the increased humidity in the front house , a product of the superior insulation of the new windows and doors installed. Further improvements and projects underway in the front house include the demolition of the deck located outside of the Presidents room in the front house as well as the demolition of the downstairs front bathroom as well as the resealing of pipes and caulking associated with the shower and shower pan in the upstairs bathroom.; Progress is definitely occuring at the physical plant courtesy of our new loan and promises to provide a much improved chapter house for all members, alumni and active in the near future. For those interested, pictures of the progress will be provided soon. For any questions, please contact Adoni Christie at adonic82@hotmail.com. |
