Renovation Update & Photos - August 22, 2003
Our chapter house renovation continues. John Hodgson, Alumni President, met with Daniel Sedillo, our contractor, this last week to sign the initial construction agreement with the Sedillo Company which calls for this work to be done by September 26. The initial work order is about $63,000. An additional $1100 has been spent on replacing the sprinkler system in the front lawn of the chapter house.

The construction crew has the entire kitchen pulled apart and they were in the process of rebuilding the floors and walls. Much of the initial plumbing has been done in the upstairs and downstairs front bathrooms. The Alumni is getting bids on a number of additional items which I will circulate to the entire Alumni Board once I write up all the potential additional items. These include replacing additional windows downstairs, painting the rest of the inside of the front house, painting the outside of the front house, repairing the back porch/laundry area floor and walls that are completely gone, etc. None of these repairs will be done until we get written bids from Daniel and are reviewed by the Alumni Board.

I think we are really making some great progress and would encourage all alumni to get over to the house to view the progress. The house in another four weeks will be a much improved facility.
Work on the complete remodel and update of the kitchen proceeds. The worker pictured is Mike, a Zeta Xi chapter active who works for the Sedillo Company.
Another picture of the kitchen update. Pictured is Daniel Sedillo, President of The Sedillo Company, who is the contractor working on the chapter house renovation. Daniel is a Zeta Xi chapter alum and a former House Steward.

The Sedillo Company is aiming to have all the initial chapter house repairs (about $70,000 worth) done by September 26, 2003 prior to the start of the Fall Quarter at UC Davis.
This is a picture on the roof between the front and back houses. Please note the overflowed gutters and pools of water from the summer storm earlier that day. Some roof work is included in the chapter renovation project.
